Group 4 - Experimental Sciences
All students are required to study an Experimental Science at Group 4. This can include up to 2 of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, Design Technology, and sports, exercise and health sciences (SL-only).
As well as exploring the theories, models and concepts that underpin each science area, students will also partake in an extended project that enables an appreciation of environmental, ethical and social implications of science. This project is collaborative and serves as an opportunity to discuss scientific solutions to questions of a global scale.
Students opting to study Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary Science will ordinarily opt to study two Group 4 subjects. This is instead of an Arts subject at Group 6.
Alternatively, some students may choose to study Environmental Systems and Societies, which is an interdisciplinary subject that fulfils both the Group 3 and Group 4 requirements.
